Introducing
WILLIE MASON

Willie Mason is arguably one of the most colourful and outspoken legends of rugby league.
From his earliest days, Willie’s physical attributes and strong opinions set him apart from his peers. It was apparent from his junior footy years, that he possessed a rare combination of size, strength, and skill that made him a force to be reckoned with once he transitioned into the NRL.
Willie’s professional career ignited in 2000 when he made his NRL debut for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. Bursting onto the scene with a rare mix of athleticism and raw talent, he quickly established himself as one of the most dynamic forwards in the game. In total, he played 290 NRL games across 15 seasons at the top level, representing NSW (17 games) and Australia (24 Tests) respectively, with his crowning moment being an integral part of the 2004 Grand Final Premiership winning side for the Bulldogs, whilst also being awarded the Clive Churchill Medal winner for best on ground.
Off the field, Mason has quickly established himself as a respected voice in rugby league, He is renowned for his quick wit, headline grabbing quotes and his blunt assessment of the sport. His colourful banter with other former footy legends, journalists or current players creates a refreshing perspective of the game because he’s not afraid to go against the normal media narrative.
Despite his personal success, Willie is also known for his generosity and community work. He uses his platform to support various charitable causes, mentor young players and participate in fundraising events. He is very proud of his Tongan-Samoan heritage, and he is dedicated to helping young Polynesian athletes from similar disadvantaged backgrounds to have an opportunity to succeed.
He currently splits his time as a pathways coach and Ambassador for the Bulldogs, whilst regularly appearing on Channel 7 as an expert commentator and co-hosting (with former NRL player - Justin Horo) the highly successful rugby league podcast – Levels Network. Recently he has also dabbled in acting, with an appearance as a key character for the Stan Australia series Sunny Nights.
Willie is a multi-faceted talent that is highly sought after for celebrity appearances, guest speaking, promotional activities and ambassador roles.
